However, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg declined to comment when asked how Facebook plans to monetize “Places”. While industry analysts predict, Facebook users will use location data to sell more ads .BGC Financial analyst, Colin Gillis says "Location is a variable that can be cashed,".
However, this feature is optional. Users who are not interested in sharing the location would not be forced to use it. Check-in information will be shared only if the user wants it or need it.
